The Walley dashboard gives you a unified view of all Canton Network digital assets held under your party identity. Because Walley is non-custodial, you retain full control of your assets at all times — no third party holds or manages them on your behalf. Use this guide to navigate the asset management interface and understand how your data is sourced and displayed.

The Asset Management Dashboard

When you open Walley, the dashboard loads your current holdings automatically. Each asset card shows the asset type, balance, and relevant metadata fetched directly from the Canton Network ledger via Walley’s APIs.
The dashboard reflects the current on-ledger state of your holdings. If you recently completed a transaction, allow a moment for the ledger to finalize and the dashboard to refresh.

Viewing Balances and Holdings

Navigate to the Assets tab to see a full list of your holdings.
1

Open the Assets tab

Select Assets from the main navigation menu. Walley fetches your current balances directly from the Canton Network ledger.
2

Review your holdings

Each row displays the asset name, type, and your current balance. Select any asset to expand its detail view, including recent activity and contract metadata.
3

Refresh your balances

Select the Refresh icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard to pull the latest ledger state. Walley does not poll automatically on a fixed interval — refresh manually to confirm the most current data.

Understanding Which Assets Are Visible

Walley displays assets that are associated with your Canton Network party identity. Only assets that exist on the Canton Network ledger and are allocated to your party are shown.
An asset may not appear in your dashboard if:
  • The asset was not issued on the Canton Network ledger.
  • The sending party has not finalized the transfer on-ledger.
  • Your party identity has not been granted visibility or access rights to that asset contract.
  • There is a temporary delay between ledger finalization and the Walley API response.
If you expect an asset and it does not appear after refreshing, contact the counterparty to confirm the transaction was submitted and finalized on-ledger.

How Asset Data Is Fetched

Walley retrieves your asset data directly from the Canton Network ledger using your party credentials. Your data is scoped strictly to your party — Walley cannot access assets belonging to other parties, and other parties cannot view your holdings through Walley.
Your Party Hint — the human-readable walley- prefixed identifier associated with your account — is the identity other participants use to direct assets to you. You can find your Party Hint in Settings → Identity.

Transaction Finality

On-ledger actions on the Canton Network are final once committed to the ledger. Unlike traditional systems that may offer reversals or chargebacks, Canton Network transactions cannot be undone after submission.
Always verify asset type, recipient, and amount before submitting any transaction. Once an action is recorded on the Canton Network ledger, it is irreversible. Walley cannot recover funds sent in error.
